A1 Reports Increased Fraud Cases

About Company

A1 warns its clients about the increased frequency of scam calls. Scammers impersonating A1 employees call A1 clients and try to convince them to renew their service agreement without having to visit the company's office. This is done with the only purpose of getting hands on your personal data. Fraudsters then use collected personal data to access information systems of financial organisations and state agencies via the Interbank Identification System.

If a caller from an unknown number proposes you to renew your A1 service agreement via phone, you should ignore the offer and end the call. Alway be on your guard and tell your family and friends that A1 never asks its clients to renew their SIM card or service agreement, or sign any new contract, via phone.

The official A1 phone numbers are listed below:

  • numbers 150 and +‪‪3752960001‬‬50 are used for calling a client's mobile phone number, e.g. following a client's request or to offer company services, including automatic canvas calling;‬‬‬‬‬‬
  • SMS and Viber messages from an A1 alphanumeric number (A1, A1 banking, VOKA, 150) are used for mass text messaging;
  • 411хх numbers (41101, 41141, etc.) are used for interactive mass text messaging campaigns.

For more information on the A1 contact details, head to the Contacts page on the A1 website.

Moreover, scammers may also call you via messengers. In that case, the incoming number may look like a regular number from a landline or mobile phone. Be sure to take note what channel is making a call. As a rule, scammers try to obtain your confidential information and urge you to perform certain actions with your personal accounts. Scammers may try to gain access to your personal account or say that your phone number has been blocked and they need your assistance to restore access to it. Here are some tips on how to protect yourself from phone scammers.

  • Even if the conversation seems realistic, do not disclose your confidential information to the caller, e.g. your passport ID; bank card number, CVV code and access code; number of service agreement, etc.
  • If the caller asks you to call another phone number, ignore them.
  • If you want to make sure that the caller really works for the company they claim to work for, ask them to introduce themselves, and then call the official phone number of the company in question and ask to be referred to that employee.
  • Do not install any third-party applications on your smartphone.
  • If the caller succeeded in obtaining your bank card details or other personal data and then you found out that money has been stolen from your account (or other unlawful actions have been performed with your account), contact law enforcement agencies immediately.

If you have received a call from scammers, please dial 102 and report to law enforcement agencies right away.
