Summer Is Calling: A1 Improves LTE Network in Minsk, Mogilev, Gomel, and Grodno Regions

About Company

A1 is dedicated to expanding its fourth-generation mobile network. This time, the total of 18 settlements in Minsk, Mogilev, Gomel, and Grodno Regions saw a noticeable 4G improvement.

Increasing LTE network capacity comes with a bunch of advantages, which include a stable mobile Internet connection and improved signal speed and quality in both big cities and rural areas. This marks the sixth technical improvement from the beginning of the year. A1 is continuously enhancing its 4G network both in both big cities, where it is focused on increasing network capacity, and remote areas, where a better coverage is achieved through setting up new stations that use various frequency bands, parameter optimization, and traffic prioritization.

Compared to its predecessor, 4G network delivers a faster and more stable mobile Internet connection, which means users can watch movies online without having to wait till they load, post heavy-weight content on social media, and make calls from any part of the country.

4G (LTE) is currently the most advanced mobile service standard in Belarus. As a result of combined efforts by А1 and the infrastructure operator beСloud, 99% of people living in Belarus now have access to the fourth-generation mobile technology.

To start using 4G and enjoy all the benefits of high-quality connection, you need to:

1. enable 4G (LTE) in your phone settings. Switching to the new communication standard is absolutely free. In the 4G mode, your smartphone will be choosing 4G as its priority network. However, when needed, it may automatically switch back to 3G;

2. enable VoLTE in your smartphone settings to ensure higher quality of voice calls;

3. if your SIM card doesn't support LTE, you should opt for USIM or eSIM instead. You can do all this for free in any А1 store;

4. if your smartphone is not compatible with LTE, you should opt for a newer model that supports 4G/LTE.

To check if your smartphone and SIM card are compatible with 4G, enter the USSD code *181# and press the Dial key.
