A1 Mobile Service on 3rd Metro Line in Minsk

About Company

A1 has finished the deployment of its mobile network infrastructure at the new metro stations in Minsk. Now Minsk metro passengers can make calls (including VoLTE calls) and use mobile Internet at the Aerodromnaya, Nemorshankiy Sad, and Slutskiy Gostinets stations. Now A1 customers can stay in touch even underground—in metro trains, on platforms, and in pedestrian tunnels. A high-quality signal ensures a stable connection for any needs, whether it's making an important call, quickly checking information, chatting on messengers, working with documents or watching video content.

A1 is committed to providing impeccable mobile service, so that you can stay in touch anywhere and anytime. A1 is continuously expanding its network and adopting new technologies to make the daily lives of its customers even more comfortable. Like the other two lines, the 3rd metro line uses a 1,800MHz frequency band. Stable connection is ensured by a leaky feeder cable installed along tunnel walls. Connected to base stations, the cable replaces conventional cellular antennas, providing a stable signal for mobile devices of metro passengers. A crucial part of the project was ensuring a smooth transition from 3G network to LTE standard. The third-generation mobile technology will be available to Minsk metro passengers alongside 4G.

To benefit from high-quality 4G mobile service, you need to do the following:

  1. enable 4G (LTE) in your phone settings;
  2. enable VoLTE mode in the settings to ensure better quality of voice calls;
  3. make sure your SIM card supports LTE (if not, choose USIM or eSIM instead);
  4. make sure your smartphone supports LTE (if not, choose a newer model).

To check if your smartphone and SIM card are compatible with 4G, enter the USSD code *181# and press the Dial key. Find out more about A1 4G coverage and average speed on the A1 official website at link or using the My A1 app. More information on the characteristics and advantages of 4G mobile technology is available here.
