Draw a sequel: the second volume of A1’s children comics Not For Someone Else To See is out

A sequel of the adventurous comics in support of charitable project realized by Belarusian Children Fund and A1 I Can See! is out. Starting from 4 December the second volume of the story about school guys, aliens and unusual glasses is a present available in Minsk and Vitebsk book stores

Every year I Can See! focused on ophthalmologic screenings of the schoolers residing in rural areas gets support through numerous information campaigns.

“This year ophthalmologic teams have visited every rural school of Vitebsk oblast, have screened the schoolers’ vision providing them with medical findings, recommendations and prescriptions. However, prevention of vision impairments among children which is a duty of doctors, teachers and parents is another integral part of the project. Since the schoolers themselves should not stay on the sidelines too everyone will get a booklet of useful tips for preservation of vision health. And now comics full of important information presented in an unusual and eye-catching format is here to help us”, - emphasized Alexander Truhan, director of Belarusian Children Fund.

This year not only ophthalmologists but also the characters of the comics Alesya, Ilia and Bogdan talk how important it is to preserve a good health. The adventures of the friends start when they find unusual glasses and an old diary with mysterious symbols that bring the characters to a spaceship.

“The project aims not only to provide ophthalmologic aid but also do everything possible for this aid to be needed as late as possible, i.e. provide children and adults with necessary information. This time we have selected a format of a comic story for this dialogue and it has worked out. The adventurous story has absorbed the schoolers, their parents and teachers which means we are on the right track”, - noted A1.

The final volume of the comics will be out in early 2020 but it’s authors already now invite everyone to invent an own script via special stickerpark I Can See! for Viber and Telegram, draw an own comics with the same characters based on the previous two volumes and provide it to the authors – and it may be your story that will become the final volume. Your versions of the story can be submitted before 18 December inclusively to a fun-art mailbox: moderncomicsby@gmail.com.

The comics is designed for kids above ten years. It's first episode named as Hindsight was out in November. The second volume Not For Someone Else To See is a sequel to it. Every episode contains special exercises for the vision health – for example, this time as what to do if you meet aliens.

The story was created by Olga Aldanova (script and illustrations) and Nikita Sennikov (script) – representatives of a creative group The Contemporary Comics established a few years ago uniting authors across the country engaged in this genre.

“A comics is not just a graphic story but a common language that helps to express one’s thoughts. Many artists of Marvel, DC, Image and other studios started with remakes of someone else’s characters. And we suggest that our children see themselves as professional authors and improvise how the story ends”, - commented Nikita Sennikov.

A printed version of the second volume is available as a present in Oz book stores at Pobeditilej 3 in Minsk and Lenina 65 in Vitebsk.
