A1 provided connection to the opening of the third line of Minsk metro

Telecom, ICT and content services provider A1 has successfully completed mobile communication testing at the stations of Minsk Metro third line. Thus, by the official launch of the new line, A1 subscribers will be able to use communication on platforms, in underground passages, as well as in tunnels between stations.

Thus, the A1 network now works at the Kovalskaya Sloboda, Vokzalnaya, Ploshad' Frantishka Bogushevicha and Yubileinaya Ploshad' stations. Once the third subway line is opened, passengers will be able to make free calls, including those in HD-Voice format, as well as use mobile Internet on the platforms of these stations and in the underground passages leading to them.

In addition, A1 communication is already available in all tunnels between metro stations.

At the new 3.5-km start-up line of the Minsk Metro, as has already been done on Maskoŭskaja and Awtazavodskaya lines, the solution of laying a leaky feeder cable along the walls of the tunnels, proposed earlier by the A1 company, will be implemented. It is connected to base stations and replaces the regular antennas of cellular communications, making it a source of a stable signal for mobile devices of the subway passengers.

A1 began the implementation of the project to provide mobile communications in the Minsk Metro sections back in 2018. By October 2018, the company completed all preparatory work and began installing equipment in the tunnels, and from April to May 2019 it gradually provided communications to various sections of the Maskoŭskaja and Awtazavodskaya lines. Thanks to this, mobile communications and the Internet are currently available to A1 subscribers at all existing stations and sections between stations with a total length of coverage of 37,3 km.
