А1 offers eco-shoppers instead of biodegradable bags in its shops

А1 gradually refrains from usage of one-time biodegradable bags in favor of eco textile shoppers of multiple use. Anyone can purchase A1 eco-shoppers in any of its shops across Belarus.

A1 has minimized distribution of free of charge biodegradable plastic bags among it’s customers and thus has reduced plastic usage by one third since January to November 2021. In pursuit of environmentally friendly alternative together with invited experts, the company made a research based on the results of which stopped distribution of polymeric and paper bags. Replacement of plastic bags to textile eco- shoppers was recognized as the best eco solution for the environment.

 

Solid and spacious textile bags retain their original appearance given the proper care that is why are good for a multiple use. Minimalistic design of A1 shoppers reduces the volume of paint used for printing while decomposition upon utilization requires just 2-3 years in comparison with plastic bags that need times longer period.

An eco-shopper costs BYN 8 and it is presented as a gift upon purchase of goods or services for the minimum amount of BYN 800.

According to internal ecologic policy adopted in 2020 A1 realizes a number of energy efficient projects related to it’s base stations and data centre. The company continues to develop its concept of ‘green’ office through digitalization of docflow, installation of containers for segregation of wastes and A1garod with vegetables and fruits on the rooftop of company headquarters during the warm season.
