A1 employees planted over 2.5 hectares of forest in Kalinkavichy District

A1 took an active part in the regeneration of Belarusian forests. The company employees planted over 2.5 hectares of trees in Kalinkavichy District to contribute to the renewal of the forest resources damaged by the summer windstorm.

On Saturday, November 2, 2024, A1 took part in the "Give forest a new life!" national voluntary initiative aimed at restoring regions damaged by the natural disaster. The initiative was active from October 12 to November 12 at the behest of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus. A1 made a contribution to the reafforestation of the Kalinkavichy District, one of our country's districts that was severely damaged by the windstorm. The company employees planted over five thousand trees to help speed up the forest restoration in the district.

"Within the scope of our ESG strategy, environmental initiatives have been one of the key areas of the company operations for several years now. We strive to inspire our employees, clients and partners to treat nature with care and respect, and to be more green-minded. Planting a forest is a significant step that each of us can take to protect the environment," stated Vladimir Sachkov, Deputy General Director for Technical Issues at A1.

This is not the company's first volunteer initiative in the Kalinkavichy District: back in August, A1 employees organized a master class on digital literacy at the local territorial social security center. It was held for senior citizens and people with disabilities, aiming at telling them more about cybersecurity and ways of rebuking online scammers.

Moreover, last summer A1 expanded their fixed-line service area in the Kalinkavichy District, allowing the local population to use Internet at the speed of up to 500 Mbps, get a broad range of telecommunications services within a single service bundle, as well as manage their lives online easily and cost-efficiently. The tariff lines include both affordable offers focused exclusively on home Internet and comprehensive solutions combining several services: Internet, television and mobile communications.
