Equal access to communications services: General Director of A1 explains how the company is developing its mobile network across the country

About Company

Providing equal access to mobile communications services throughout Belarus is a complex task. The physics of radio signal transmission is inexorable: forests, hills, swamps, even dense clouds create interference. Perfect coverage does not exist in any country of the world, but we can improve it. And statistics from recent years show that Belarus is moving in this direction rather confidently. Last year alone, over 3,500 new cellular communications facilities were built and commissioned in the country. Today, the 4G network covers 99.6% of the population, and the 3G network covers 99.9%.

A1 regularly implements projects that ensure stable network coverage not only in major cities but also in rural areas throughout the country. What is being done to ensure that residents of remote communities feel as confident as residents of Minsk? How is A1 working on improving its networks and what can help the company with this task? Is it possible to build a base station in every corner of the country? Vladimir Sachkov, Senior Director for Technology at A1, spoke about all of this in a report on the ONT television channel.

You can watch the new ONT story from the "Real Quality" series in the broadcast recording.
