A famous animation by Natalia Turovskaya was demonstrated at Classic Music at Cityhall Together with A1
Two programs at once were presented to the audience of the fifth concert of Classic Music at Cityhall Together with A1 in Minsk. On 17 August about 4 thousand people gathered by Svobody square in order to enjoy an internationally recognized animated film accompanied by State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus and a solo performance of virtuoso of the piano Timur Sergeyenya.

The concert was opened by State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the baton of maestro Evgeny Bushkov who performed music compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Edvard Grieg and Piotr Tchaikovsky. An animated film based on the works by a contemporary artist Natalia Turovskaya was demonstrated on a big screen during the main theme of the night, i.e. a series of plays Pictures at the Exhibition by Modest Musorgsy orchestrated by a Russian and Canadian cello player and conductor Yuli Turovsky,. It was Mussorgsky’s music that inspired her for creation of the pictures and a short cartoon Dancing Pictures from the Exhibition. It was demonstrated at a number of international festivals including Short Film Corner in Cannes.

In 2007 Natalia Turovskaya received an award for outstanding achievements in filmmaking at New York festival of independent films and videofilms. The animation was demonstrated at the concerts of I MUSICI de Montréal around the USA, Spain, Brazil, Canada and Columbia. State Chamber Orchestra presented it for the audience at Minsk Cityhall.

Timur Sergeyenya, a Belarusian piano player and conductor, professor of the Highschool of Arts of the Royal Conservatory of Ghent in Belgium, art director of numerous international music festivals will perform the second part of the concert. It’s the third time the musician took part in Classic Music Together with A1, however, for the first time presented his big solo program and played Frederick Chopin, Felix Mendelson, Clod Debussy, Sergei Rachmaninov, Firenze Liszt, Isaak Albeniz and Manuel de Falla.

This is already the fifth season of Classic Music by Cityhall Together with A1 and on the occasion of the anniversary music nights are organized in five cities across Belarus. Concerts in Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno and Brest have been already held. A series of musical nights in Minsk started on 20 July and will be closed on 31 August with the performance of the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus.
