Music and animation at the concert of Classic Music at Cityhall Together with A1
On 17 August there are three events prepared for the audience of Classic Music Together with A1: performance of State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, screening of internationally recognized animated film and solo performance of a pianist and virtuoso Timur Sergeyenya.

The concert will be opened by one of the leading national bands – State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the baton of Maestro Evgeny Bushkov. The program features Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Edvard Grieg and Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The highlight of the night is a series of plays Pictures at the Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky orchestrated by a Russian and Canadian cello player and conductor Yuli Turovsky. An animated film based on the paintings of a contemporary artist Natalia Turovskaya will be screened during performance of the orchestra.
Pictures at the Exhibition is a famous series of piano plays written in 1874 by a Russian composer impressed by the works of his friend and artist Victor Hartman. The series inspired an artist and musician Natalia Turovskaya for creation of a few paintings and then a short animated film Dancing Paintings from the Exhibition. The animation became a part of a few international film festivals including Short Film Corner in Cannes. In 2007 in New York the artist received an award for outstanding achievements in filmmaking at the festival of independent films and videofilms. The animation was demonstrated at the concerts of I MUSICI de Montréal around the USA, Spain, Brazil, Canada and Columbia. State Chamber Orchestra also used this film within it’s program and will present it for the audience at Svobody Square.
Timur Sergeyenya, a Belarusian piano player and conductor, professor of the Highschool of Arts of the Royal Conservatory of Ghent in Belgium will perform at the second part of the concert. The musician takes part in the festival already for the third time and will for the first time present his solo program and play Frederick Chopin, Felix Mendelson, Clod Debussy, Sergei Rachmaninov, Firenze Liszt, etc.
