People of the Marsh and The Evening live: VOKA continues live broadcasts from Kupala Theatre

In 2020 VOKA continues a series of epic broadcasts from Kupala Theatre. Two performances People of the Marsh and The Evening will be live in January. Online screenings are organized within the framework of a special project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the most senior dramatic theatre in the country the anniversary of which is celebrated under support of the general partner, i.e. A1.

 

The audience has opportunity to watch the performances of Kupala Theatre not only with tickets purchased but also free in any corner of Belarus. VOD VOKA has already provided live screenings of Radio Prudok, Two Souls and The Land of Eliza. Another two performances are expected soon. People of the Marsh is live on VOKA starting from 9 January and the epic The Evening – on 18 January.

 

 

People of the Marsh is a must see show without which one can never imagine the repertoire of the national theatre. Ivan Melezh’s story of parceling the land in Kureni village of Palesse and a love triangle Hanna – Vasil – Evhim is well-known to every schoolchild in our country. The premiere of the performance based on the novel of the famous Belarusian classic writer took place in 2012 and even now it plays to capacity. The director of the show is Alexander Gartsuyev. Stage design of this show created by Igor Anisenko is awarded with the prize of Ivan Ushakov for the best stage craft (2013).

 

The Evening is one of the long-standing shows of Kupala theatre that has been on for almost 14 years. It was staged by Valery Rayevsky – a legendary director and creative director whose name is associated with an entire epoch in the history of the theatre. The cast consists of the stars like honored artist of USSR and Belarus Gennady Ovsyannikov, honored artist of Belarus Zinaida Zubkova and honored artist of the Republic of Belarus Tamara Mironova. The stage craft is designed by honored artist of Belarus and the chief artist of the theatre Boris Gerlovan. Self-named play the show is based on many people consider as the best of Dudarev who had taken three old men living out their days in a forgotten village as the main characters. The Evening is a touching philosophic requiem and reflection how to celebrate one’s life and be a human being till the last minute of life.

 

 

Multicamera creative footage in HD quality creates maximum immersive atmosphere and makes it possible to watch the stage from different angels. Both broadcastings will be available only live from any device in any operator network upon authorization in a mobile app VOKA or on voka.tv via mobile number registration. The shows start at 7pm.
