#Karatkevich90: А1 initiates a new campaign with a theatrical performance on VOKA dedicated to 90th anniversary of the classic author

VOKA will broadcast a live gala performance named Our Karatkevich hosted by Belarusian Drama Theatre on 26 November, i.e. birthday of an outstanding Belarusian writer Vladimir Karatkevich. Broadcasting will be available free of charge in any corner of Belarus and around the globe.

The cast of the Belarusian Drama Theatre together with Musical Arch Ensemble will guide along the labyrinth of the creative works, love, temptation, unexpected mysteries associated with Korotkevich. The broadcasting is a part of information campaign #Karatkevich90 organized by A1.

Support of artefacts belonging to Belarusian national culture is one of the key directions of A1 corporate social responsibility. That is why this year we would like to remind of the brightest figures in native literature through a series of online projects and events prepared specifically for the 90th anniversary of Vladimir Korotkevich. One of them is a special performance at the National Drama Theatre. And we are very happy we can present the creative works of a well-known classic writer to the whole globe on his birthday, - commented Nikolai Bredelev, head of A1 PR.

The idea to design a show Our Korotkevich belongs to a director and playwright Vasily Dranko-Maisyuk, artist Yuri Solomonov and poet writer Valerina Kustova.

Korotkevich used to catch sharks and poisonous snakes, grieved about his first tragic love story, was the first in Belarus to write historic detective stories and became one of the most popular native writers from Warsaw to Kamchatka. He used to change rules of the game, was able to surprise and inspire, hated if someone called him a romantic and dreamt that real Belarusians were as much strong and decent as his literary characters. We want to present theatrical image of this person and greatest writer in the context of his creative works and important events in life, - the authors of the idea note.
