How do Belarusian cities sound: Classic Music by Cityhall Together with A1 has released it’s soundtrack
The fifth season of Classic Music by Cityhall Together with A1 will come to it’s close on 31 August with a concert from Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus. On the eve of the final concert the festival has released it’s own anniversary soundtrack compiled from the sounds of all Belarusian cities that hosted musical nights.

This season on the occasion of it’s fifth anniversary Classic Music at Cityhall Togetherwith A1 for the first time embraced five Belarusian cities at once. Concerts have been already held in Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno and Brest. A series of concerts in Minsk started on 20 July and will culminate on 31 August with the performance of Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus.
Each of these five cities has it’s own “sound”. The sound of the tram in Vitebsk, the sound of Minsk metro, talks of the dwellers on embankment in Gomel, a purl of the fountain in Brest, a bell ringing of a catholic church in Grodno – all of them made up a music track full of sounds of regional centres and the capital of Belarus.
The melody is split into a few logical parts. A musical trip across the cities that hosted Classiс Music at Cityhall Together with A1 starts with an introduction, i.e. arrival of the train at the station. Then there starts a walk along the streets of Minsk, Vitebsk, Grodno, Gomel and Brest including similar but at the same time unique for every city sounds of the transport, voices of the passersby and children’s laughter in city parks. The noise of a skate board turns into a bell ringing or rhythm of electronic percussions – bowed instruments and French horns. Thus, the journey takes place not only in place but also in time uniting the past and the present.
The soundtrack of Classic Music at Cityhall Together with A1 was released on the eve of the last out of ten concerts in this season that will take place on 31 August. By Minsk Cityhall Presidential Orchestra of the Republiс of Belarus under the baton of Victor Babarikin will present it’s program From Classics to the Rock Classics: from Vivaldi, Puccini, Verdi to Metallica and AC/DC. A singer Ivan Vabischevich, soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre – honored artist of the Republic of Belarus Elena Shvedova and Ilia Silchukov, founder and soloist of PALLADIUM Electric Band Oleg Paulya (electric violin), grant holder of the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus Tatiana Kormazinova (flute) will take part in the concert too.
