Finalists of the project The First presented their ideas at online conference TEDxYouth@Minsk

On 19 September online Belarusian-speaking conference TEDxYouth@Minsk was held in which ten high schoolers and freshmen from all over the country presented their ideas live on VOKA video service. Thanks to the broadcast thousands of viewers all over the world could not only watch presentations of the speakers but also ask questions.

Every participant selected a specific topic for an own project, i.e. Technology, Culture, Ecology or Inclusivity and entered well-known TEDx red circle in order to share an own vision how to make a difference in the life around you. The ideas presented by the teenagers indeed make an impression: robotics courses, urban murals with poems of Belarusian poets, eco dishes made of reed and cane, multi-purpose wireless chargers, mobile apps for reconstruction of the architectural monuments in augmented reality and museum excursions, master classes from bloggers in Belarusian, removal of debris from the Baltic sea and installation of writing cabinets for schoolers.

“TEDxYouth@Minsk is a part of global and a “sequel” of TEDx for “adults” in Belarus. The conference sees it’s mission in promotion of unique ideas. And what we have seen and heard is truly outstanding. Our youth has many useful and interesting ideas therefore it is fundamentally important to give it an opportunity to be heard. Although all speakers for the first time ever presented live in front of a big international audience, they have managed it”, - thinks Anna Kozlova, licensor and organizer of TEDx in Belarus who has attended the event too.

TEDxYouth@Minsk was organized in our country for the second time within the framework of the project The First organized by A1. Finalists of the project got opportunity to present their ideas in world-class format and everyone of them was awarded with iPhone XR.

Finalists and participants of TEDxYouth@Minsk feature Samuil Aleksin and Sofia Fedchenko from Minsk, Pavel Ananich from Mogilev, Elizaveta Grinyuk from Slutsk, Anastasia Kundir from Vitebsk, Konstantin Mulitsa from Iviye, Denis Rabchyk from Brest, Angelina Sebik and Victoria Sidorenko from Gomel, Ekaterina Yangol from Krevo. Presentation in Belarusian remains the prerequisite for the speakers.

“Another important feature of TEDxYouth@Minsk is presentation in Belarusian only like it was formulated a year ago since this is one of the aims of the project The First, i.e. promotion of the utilization of Belarusian language. The fact that speakers address international audience in their native language once again underscores authenticity and creativity of their ideas”, - commented Ekaterina Sevastyanchyk, CSR expert of A1.

For those who have missed live broadcast on 19 September, recorded version will soon be available on VOKA VOD.
