A1 subscribers will be able to switch to eSIM in "My A1"

A1 will allow its subscribers to switch to eSIM via "My A1" application. From October 29, it will be even easier and quicker to replace your classic SIM card with its digital analog.

For this purpose, it is not necessary to visit A1 stores or log into the personal profile: just open your "My A1" mobile app, make sure that the user device is connected to Wi-Fi and choose the corresponding service in the menu. After that, your old SIM card will be replaced with eSIM automatically.

New service will be available to individuals using smartphones with the support of USD services (otherwise, the change can only be performed in user's account). Moreover, activation of eSIM using "My A1" will require presence of a physical SIM card of the same subscriber number, from which the replacement request is sent, and in the same smartphone on which the application is installed. Apple users will be the first to be able to use this service; later, it will also be available on Android devices.

eSIM is an integrated subscriber identification module. Therefore, digital alternative to the SIM card need not to be installed in the slot. Nowadays, the A1 eSIM is compatible with all device models supporting this technology and officially represented in Belarus.

Electronic SIM card of the new generation provides the same possibilities as its plastic equivalent: it can be blocked in case of loss of the phone, as well as installed into a new device, or its support can be temporarily suspended. However, unlike physical SIM cards, the number of which is limited by two slots in a smartphone, eSIM users can install up to five different profiles (depending on the device model) and control them from a single device.
