А1 significantly expands 4G network coverage: 800 MHz band is now available to residents of Grodno region

About Company

Telecom, ICT and content services provider A1 and infrastructure operator beCloud, which builds a unified LTE network in Belarus, significantly expand 4G coverage in Grodno region. Hundreds of localities throughout Belarus can now get high speed mobile Internet in the 800 MHz band using LTE technology.

Thus, 16 base stations working in the 800 MHz band were launched in Grodno region. Due to the fact that the signal in this frequency range has a long reach, the quality of the fourth generation communication will significantly improve in places remote from major population centers.

Grodno region was the last step in implementing the project on expanding the 4G network coverage area for A1 subscribers, which started in 2020. During this time, similar work to introduce LTE technology in the 800 MHz band was carried out in Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Minsk and Brest regions.

4G communication can be used by those A1 subscribers whose SIM cards and mobile devices support this technology. You can check the readiness of your device for 4G in the "Settings" menu by selecting the appropriate settings – 3G/4G or LTE. A symbol will appear on the screen confirming that you can use the data transmission service.

A1 subscribers can check whether the SIM card supports 4G network by means of a USSD request *181#. If the SIM card is out of date, it can be replaced at any of the company's stores or dealerships.
