A1 launched the remote eSIM activation via the mobile app

Starting from August 31, 2021, owners of smartphones with eSIM support will be able to become A1 subscribers without visiting an A1 store by using the My A1 app, which is available for a free download in App Store and Play Market. Furthermore, you do not have to be a current subscriber of the company: subscribers of other cellular operators can also choose any tariff plan and try out A1's high quality telecommunication.

To subscribe to the A1 network via eSIM remotely, you will need to take several steps offered in sequence in the My A1 app. This will take no more than 5 minutes of your time:

  • select the "New SIM card activation" section on the application login page
  • press the "eSIM" button (will be active if your device supports eSIM)
  • choose a tariff plan from the list of available subscription options
  • scan your passport, following the suggested steps sequentially
  • pass face recognition authentication
  • put your digital signature on the registration form
  • once the verification is complete, make a prepayment through an online payment service or by bank card
  • install the downloaded eSIM on the smartphone by pressing the corresponding button

The majority of A1's tariff plans are available for remote subscription, including the most popular ones, such as No Limits, Comfort S, Comfort M, Comfort L, Start, lemon Z, lemon Y, lemon X, Unlim XS, Share the Wi-Fi 30, Share the Wi-Fi 75 and Share the Wi-Fi Pro. This being said, special terms are provided to the new subscribers of the tariff plans.

Once the eSIM is installed, the new subscriber can use My A1 to subscribe to all the necessary services, as well as manage them without the need to visit A1 offices.

The A1 eSIM cards are currently compatible with all device models supporting it and officially represented in Belarus. The eSIM card provides the same opportunities as its plastic equivalent: it can be blocked if the phone gets lost, and it can be transferred to a new device.

Unlike physical SIM cards, the number of which is limited by the number of slots in a smartphone and cannot exceed two cards, eSIM users can install up to five different eSIMs on one gadget and switch between them as necessary. Moreover, the eSIM technology is more environmentally friendly than regular SIM cards, as it allows to reduce the use of plastic. This is another step that helps A1 to adhere to its established environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) principles in all aspects of its business.
