A1 provided the opportunity to switch to the eSIM online

Now it is even easier for A1 subscribers to exchange the old physical SIM card for a modern electronic one: it can be done in any place where Internet is available.

It is worth reminding that initially A1 subscribers could switch to the eSIM by contacting any A1 store. However, they do not need to leave home any longer because the eSIM connection became available through their personal account. So, it is enough for existing physical subscribers to log in to the system, find and select the appropriate item in the menu, make sure that the device in which a subscriber wants to replace the SIM card by a virtual one has a Wi-Fi Internet connection, and click the "Replace the SIM card" button. After this, the subscriber needs only to scan the QR code that appears on the screen using their device, and then the eSIM starts working instead of the previous SIM card.

A digital virtual eSIM card ("e" means embedded, or "built-in") is a small chip built into the device motherboard, which is remotely programmed by the communication service provider. The same features are available for the eSIM card as for its plastic alternative: it can be blocked in case of loss of the phone and reinstalled on a new device.

Unlike physical SIM cards, the number of which is limited by the number of slots in the smartphone and does not exceed two cards, eSIM users can install up to five different eSIMs on one gadget and switch between them as necessary.
