Eco Hype 2.0: 16,000+ Mobile Devices Collected for Recycling

In the autumn of 2024, A1 launched a new season of its Eco Hype 2.0 initiative. The Belarusians were invited to donate their old mobile devices for safe recycling while having a chance to win one of the five brand-new Apple iPhones 15. From 11 November to 15 December, more than 3,000 people brought over 16,000 unused gadgets to A1 stores throughout the country.

Everyone willing to help the environment had to sign up at re.a1.by and exchange their old mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, smartwatches or e-books for special codes at any A1 store. The codes gave access to a giveaway, with a chance to win one of the five brand-new smartphones.

A1 stores in Minsk, Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk, and Bobruisk collected the most devices. Based on the giveaway results, five lucky participants from Rechitsa, Minsk, Mogilev, and Polotsk got an Apple iPhone 15 each. The results are available at https://re.a1.by/.

A1 will pass on all collected devices for safe recycling.

On top of that, following the company's ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy, A1 stores have a well-established mobile device collection system running throughout the year. A1 is dedicated to maintaining a sustainable environment for future generations.
