A1 is the first in Belarus to introduce the VoLTE voice technology

A1, a telecom, ICT and content service provider, was the first in Belarus to introduce the VoLTE (Voice over LTE) technology, which makes it possible for company subscribers to make and receive high-definition voice calls when being in the 4G coverage area.

Due to the launch of the new technology, the transition of a subscriber from 4G to 3G will be "seamless" during the conversation, and the connection with an interlocutor will be almost instant. In addition, VoLTE allows for using mobile Internet even during a call, as well as for saving the battery power of the smartphone.

The VoLTE technology is available for A1 subscribers free of charge. To activate the service, it is necessary to use a USSD request *141*8#. It is currently available for Minsk, Gomel and Pinsk residents. The list of settlements will be extended as the 4G network expands for A1 subscribers. As part of the 4G development, the VoLTE technology is expected to be available in all regional centers of Belarus, as well as in most large cities by the end of 2019, covering 76 % of the country population.

In order to evaluate new opportunities, a mobile device that supports VoLTE technology is required. The option is available on the A1 Alpha smartphone, as well as on a number of models from other manufacturers.
