A1 and MTS are continuing their efforts to deploy RAN Sharing technology. The latest stage of network upgrades has affected more than 200 rural communities. Since its launch in 2022, the technology has allowed residents of thousands of settlements across the country to enjoy better voice and data services.
The RAN Sharing technology allows extending network coverage and capacity through the joint use of base stations by partner operators. Thanks to this, new network capacities can be deployed much faster, carbon emissions are reduced due to less equipment usage, and network availability is improved, which is crucial in emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
The 900 MHz band is used as the operating range, with base stations at these frequencies offering wide coverage and strong signal penetration. This allows for high-quality communications in both difficult terrain and high-density areas.
