А1 and BCF published a children adventure comics in Belarusian

An adventure comic book A Hindsight about a schoolgirl Alesya and her friends who find a wayout in any unusual situation with a help of glasses was produced in Belarus. This is the beginning of a series of three comics created in support of charitable project of Belarusian Children Fund and A1 I Can See!

The story starts at the end of summer holidays at a small dacha. The main character Alesya finds an old diary of her grandfather and a scientist upon which the girl’s life almost turns into an adventurous detective story. Secret monograms, ancient stones, spaceships – this is what the readers find in this comic book. Soon after release of the printed version this graphic novel will become available online.

“Not only does I Can See! project aim to provide timely monitoring of children vision but also talk about the right care. One of our key tasks is to deliver this information to the school guys. We have already ran a number of master classes dedicated to healthy nutrition and placed social advertising on billboards in Minsk and Brest. And now we have made up our mind to scale up to a new level of our interaction with children and offer them something that will be interesting and useful. A comic book is a viable adventurous story, a literary game with the readers while it’s characters share the same points as the ophthalmologists do: how to preserve a good vision and take timely actions if any changes occur”, - commented A1.

Olga Aldanova and Nikita Sennikov, representatives of the creative association Contemporary Comic Book are authors of A Hindsight. Illustrations were created by Olga Aldanova. Contemporary Comic Book is the only association in Belarus that unites authors of local comics. This is the place that does not only create comic books but also promotes Belarusian and comic culture in our country.

“For Belarusian Children Fund the integral part of the project is the awareness building efforts engaging teachers, parents, children – how important it is to preserve a good vision, follow recommendations, prevent vision degradation among schoolers. The doctor’s job is to identify and treat impairments. What is important for parents and teachers is to teach children how to preserve their vision and increase their responsibility for own health”, - said Alexander Truhan, director of Belarusian Children Fund.

Comic book is designed for kids above 10 years. Absorbing adventure of the characters, thematic riddles and puzzles, special exercises for the eyesight – all of these will help junior readers not only to wrap their mind around the story but also to spend time with some benefit for their own vision.

OZ is the partner of a series of novels A Hindsight.
