SMS Roaming

The service allows you to stay in touch via SMS when traveling abroad. If the services “SMS roaming” and “Mobile Internet” are connected, Internet access is provided automatically, while incoming and outgoing traffic of the mobile Internet is paid for according to roaming tariffs.

When the “SMS roaming” and MMS services are connected, sending and receiving MMS is automatically available to subscribers, incoming and outgoing traffic of the mobile Internet when receiving / sending MMS is paid for according to roaming tariffs.

• Upon activation of the service, a one-time fee is charged, incoming and outgoing calls are blocked, including in the territory of Belarus.
• The subscriber cannot receive/make calls, only SMS, Internet, and MMS are available for use:

  - Internet in roaming is provided automatically if the "SMS roaming" and "Mobile Internet" ("Internet for a tariff plan") services are available; Internet traffic is charged at roaming tariffs.

  - Sending and receiving MMS are available when the "SMS roaming" and "MMS" services are activated; Internet traffic used for receiving/sending MMS is charged separately at roaming tariffs.

• When calling a subscriber who has the SMS roaming service activated, an answering machine will be set up: "Sorry, the subscriber has deactivated the voice service. Try sending an SMS".
• Internet roaming packages are available to users of the service. More information about the packages: https://www.a1.by/en/corporate/mobile-and-fixed-lines/services/mezhdunarodnye-zvonki-roaming/roaming-paket-internet/p/9.11.
• For correct registration in the roaming network it is recommended to restart the phone on the territory of another country.
• To restore voice communication, the SMS roaming service needs to be deactivated.

• Included traffic of the tariff plan and additional packages intended for use in Belarus is not consumed in roaming.
• SMS exchange with operators who are not A1 roaming partners is not available.
• When activating the service, all types of forwarding are deleted. After deactivating the SMS roaming service, the forwarding must be set up again.
• If the 4G network is enabled in the settings, an Internet session will be initiated when the smartphone is registered in the roaming partner's network (minimum traffic is charged).

The service is provided to all corporate clients (except for subscribers of WEB and Telemetry line tariff plan).

How to activate:

Due to the fact that once the service is activated, voice calls will not be available, we recommend activating the service immediately before traveling abroad:

• in the My A1 application (Services → Available → Международные звонки.Роуминг → SMS-роуминг);
• in the Personal Account (Услуги → Доступные → Международные звонки.Роуминг → SMS-роуминг);
• via SMS (in the area of reliable network reception):

  - send from your number an SMS with the keyword ROAM to the number 411;

  - after receiving a reply, send a second SMS with the keyword DA to the number 411;

• on the basis of a standard application sent via the А1 Belarus Community in Viber or to the e-mail address legal@A1.by;
• on the basis of a standard application in A1 stores, sales and service points of official A1 dealers upon presentation of an identity document, as well as:

  - upon application of a manager: a document confirming the authority of the manager;

  - upon application of an authorized person: a power of attorney to represent the interests of a legal entity.

How to deactivate:

To restore voice calls in Belarus, you need to deactivate the service in one of the following ways.

• in the My A1 application (Services → Activated → SMS-роуминг);
• in the Personal Account (Услуги → Доступные → Международные звонки.Роуминг → SMS-роуминг);
• via SMS (in the area of reliable network reception):

  - send an SMS with the keywords NO ROAM to the number 411;

• on the basis of a standard application sent via the А1 Belarus Community in Viber or to the e-mail address legal@A1.by;
• on the basis of a standard application in A1 stores, sales and service points of official A1 dealers upon presentation of an identity document, as well as:

  - upon application of a manager: a document confirming the authority of the manager;

  - upon application of an authorized person: a power of attorney to represent the interests of a legal entity.

A one-time fee is charged for activation of the service.
